Student Accessibility Services - Missouri Baptist University

Welcome to the Office of Student Accessibility Services at Missouri Baptist University!

We are committed to assisting you with requesting accommodations, addressing concerns and connecting you with resources.

The Student Accessibility Services Office offers services to students who have documented disabilities of a permanent or temporary nature. To qualify for services, students must self-identify to the Student Accessibility Services Office. Students must meet with a Student Accessibility Services Coordinator to discuss their needs and provide appropriate written documentation of a disability from a qualified professional or agency. The documentation must include a diagnosis and specific information regarding how the disability affects academic performance along with suggestions for appropriate educational accommodations. Documentation should be no older than five years. Missouri Baptist University strives to remove barriers for individuals with disabilities in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the American with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) of 2008.

Students who need accommodations must meet each semester with the Director of Student Accessibility Services. Verification of Individual Student Accommodation (VISA), which describes the student’s needed accommodations, will be initiated with the student’s written permission. It is the student’s responsibility to deliver the VISAs and discuss his/her needs with each instructor.

If you do not wish to seek classroom accommodations but have physical disabilities that may limit your mobility around campus, it is important that you contact the Student Accessibility Services Director to discuss your needs prior to your arrival on campus. We want to be proactive and address any accessibility concerns so that your collegiate experience is a positive one.

Please call for an appointment so we may review documentation, sign all the necessary paperwork, and discuss the reasonable accommodations you will need to have a successful year at Missouri Baptist University.

All inquiries received by the Office of Student Accessibility Services about the availability of University-related accommodations are confidential.
