Confidential Reporting Options

We encourage our community of Spartans to reach out for support and report or refer a student of concern, dangerous or disruptive behavior, issues of academic integrity & honesty, or other behavior that may negatively impact the campus community and beyond. Some of these reporting options and resources are confidential. If you have questions or concerns about which may be the appropriate reporting option, do not hesitate to contact the Office of Community Accountability at deanofstudents@mobap.edu to learn more.

MBU CARES – Report a Student of Concern

MBU CARES and the Student of Concern Process allows students, staff, faculty, and MBU community members to report concerning behavior exhibited by a student. If you are aware that a student is experiencing challenges or difficulties that concern you, please report the concern using the MBU CARES Student of Concern Form. The entire MBU community will benefit. It is our goal to intervene before the student reaches a crisis level. Examples of concerning behavior includes but is not limited to the following: a student exhibiting behavior significantly out of character, acting peculiar (and this is cause for alarm), displaying unhealthy or dangerous patterns of behavior, or continuing to seem distressed despite prior referrals made.

Report a Student Conduct incident

The Office of Community Accountability handles complaints against Missouri Baptist University students and student groups but not faculty or staff. The complaint must indicate a possible violation of one or more of the Spartan Commitments Spartan Virtues (Student Handbook)

Report a violation of Academic Integrity & Honesty

When an instructor becomes aware of an alleged violation of student academic behavior standards and before any academic action is taken, the instructor must decide if the behavior warrants formal documentation through the Academic Integrity & Honesty Form by identifying the alleged misconduct violations and proposing course sanctions. Faculty should refer to the Spartan Virtues’ (Student Handbook) Academic Integrity & Honesty section for directions and information on alleging misconduct and processes associated with adjudicating an allegation. Academic misconduct includes but is not limited to cheating, plagiarism, assisting another in cheating or plagiarism, and commercial use of academic materials.

Report Title IX Sexual Harassment

Title IX protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance. The Department of Education has defined sexual harassment which is reflected in the University’s policy. All disclosures of these types of incidents are taken seriously. Report an incident to The Office of Public Safety

MBU’s Office of Public Safety patrols and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Contact the Office of Public Safety at 314-744-5355.

Report a Student Complaint or Grievance

If an MBU University student has a grievance regarding the student’s academic division or an administrative procedure the student has the right to request a review of his or her particular situation. The student must first attempt to resolve the problem by contacting the relevant department directly and requesting a review of his or her situation. If the grievance is not resolved by contacting the department directly the student should follow up with an e-mail to the representative of that department / area and detail the concern so that the student’s concern is documented. The recipient of the e-mail, or an appropriate area designee, will respond in a timely manner.

Report a Sexual Misconduct and Relationship Violence incident

The Dean of Students Office oversees complaints employees and students related to Sexual Misconduct and Relationship Violence that do not meet the definition of the Title IX Sexual Harassment Policy. All disclosures of these types of incidents are taken seriously. Click here for more information.
