Instructional Designer - Missouri Baptist University

Missouri Baptist University is looking to hire an Instructional Designer.  The Instructional Designer is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. The Instructional Designer collaborates with faculty to design, develop, and implement engaging, accessible online courses that uphold the university’s Christian values, and academic and quality standards. The ID provides faculty training and assists with the operational functions of the Office of Online Learning.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty to design, develop, and implement engaging online courses.
  • Provide training and support to faculty in the areas of instructional technology, online course design best practices, Quality Matters, online pedagogy, accessibility, learning theory, etc.
  • Conduct needs assessments, learning analyses, and instructional strategies to optimize the effectiveness of online courses.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of online courses to ensure they meet academic standards and are accessible to all students.
  • Assist with operational & administrative functions of the Office of Online Learning (budgeting, invoices, reports, etc.)

Minimum Requirements/Certifications/Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design —OR—
  • Bachelor’s degree and ID certification from a recognized provider and related experience —OR—
  • Bachelor’s degree and two years experience in instructional design

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Master’s degree in a related discipline
  • Quality Matters certification
  • 2-3 years experience in instructional design
  • Working knowledge of Canvas LMS
