Steve Gustafson worked over 30 years in public accounting with 21 of those years as a partner in a prominent St. Louis, Missouri CPA firm.  Most recently Steve has provided consulting and tax services for a large, local CPA firm. Gustafson joined the Accounting Department at MBU as an Adjunct Instructor in 2017, teaching almost every accounting course offered. Beginning with the spring 2024 semester, Steve has accepted a full-time position as an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the College of Business & Entrepreneurship.

He earned his Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University (San Francisco) and his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in accounting from the University of North Dakota. In 2011, the St. Louis Small Business Monthly recognized Steve as a Top Accountant and, again in 2023, he was selected by this publication as 1 of 100 St. Louisans to know in business. He has held his CPA certification continually since the mid-1980’s.
