MBU ECP Student Criteria

Students seeking to enroll in an MBU course through MBU Early College Partnerships must meet the following criteria.  The designated high school administrator or coordinator will list the student’s cumulative grade point average (GPA) on the registration form. All approvals require written signatures or electronic signatures through the registration form. 

Juniors and Seniors 

  • Juniors and seniors with an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) are eligible for MBU ECP courses.
  • Juniors and seniors with an overall grade point average between 2.5 – 2.99 (on a 4.0 scale) must obtain approval from their principal OR guidance counselor and provide permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Sophomores 

Sophomores with an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) may be eligible for MBU ECP courses if they also fulfill the following requirements:

  • Approval must be obtained from their principal AND guidance counselor
  • Permission must be given by a parent or legal guardian.

Freshmen 

Freshman with an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) may be eligible for MBU ECP courses if they also fulfill the following requirements:

  • Score at the 90th percentile or above on the ACT or SAT.
  • Approval from their principal AND guidance counselor.
  • Permission from a parent or legal guardian.
