Assistant Professor of Music; Director of Vocal Studies

Baritone Jason Mallory has performed opera, operetta, and oratorio in the US, Italy, and Poland; he has performed locally with Winter Opera St. Louis, Union Avenue Opera, and Gateway Opera. He specializes in works by Gilbert and Sullivan and Mozart, but his repertoire also includes lead and supporting roles in Bizet’s Carmen, Donizetti’s Elixir of Love, Puccini’s Fanciulla del West, and Verdi’s Traviata.

Mallory has been acclaimed as “strong and ardent,” “filled with suitably comic menace,” and a “fine comedian” for his “first-rate comprimario performance” by the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Two on the Aisle, and KDHX. He is a certified Vocologist and is the Director of Vocal Studies at Missouri Baptist University, where he teaches students in all styles, ranging through commercial, worship, classical and operatic music. He relishes home and outdoors time with his dynamite soprano-professor wife, Leslie, and their two sweet children, Teddy and Evie.
