Marketing Program Overview

In accordance with the mission of Missouri Baptist University and the School of Business, the marketing program prepares students to explore and develop marketing competencies to meet future business challenges and opportunities in a biblical, Christ-centered context.  Being a marketing student at MBU means learning vital skills for the real-world marketplace.  It means understanding both the foundations of marketing practice and the current (and future) technologies that will drive the field.  It means real-world research and real-world projects to grow expertise.  It means networking with students and marketing faculty and professionals to make career choices that honor God’s calling.

Internship Opportunities

Internship opportunities are available to School of Business majors and minors in the areas of:

  • Accounting
  • Business Administration
  • Data Analytics
  • Healthcare Management
  • Information Technology
  • Management
  • Marketing.

Students must have completed coursework in the internship field prior to enrolling in this course. Students will be exposed to real world experiences in a specific field of business. Variable credit may be taken in different field settings, though are not to exceed a combined total of six hours. See the course description under each field for more information.

Marketing Certificate Requirements

  • A total of 30 semester hours is required to earn the Business Certificate. Transfer credits will be accepted into this certificate program from an accredited college or school up to a maximum of 20 hours, up to 9 hours of which may be earned through credit by examination and/or portfolio assessment of prior learning. Portfolio credit is only available to those students who have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours in residency at Missouri Baptist University. Students must complete a minimum of 10 semester hours in residency at Missouri Baptist University to earn the Healthcare Management Certificate.
  • A student must earn a grade of C or better in all courses taken to meet the Thirty-Hour Healthcare Management Certificate Requirements. The student must have an overall grade point average of 2.0 (C) or better for the awarding of the certificate
