Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m
Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
If you are required to take an annual assessment, you will be notified by an email to your student account. Students who do not complete required assessments will be fined $100 and may be required to take the test in a subsequent semester.
SSC Classroom Testing Services are designed to assist students who have approved accommodations or need to make-up a classroom exam at the discretion of the student’s instructor. Scheduling an exam with the SSC does not guarantee that a student will be allowed to make up the exam.
To cancel or reschedule a classroom test or annual assessment, please call 314.392.2364 or email email@example.com at least 1 hour prior to your appointment. Three “missed” appointments without cancellation or rescheduling will disable your testing account and you will not be able to use the Testing Center again until you speak with the Testing Center Staff.
Students will be emailed a reminder the semester that they are required to take an annual assessment such as the Proficiency Profile, MFT and CPCE. However, it is the student’s responsibility to schedule their testing appointment for Assessment Day by calling (314) 392-2364 or by stopping by the SSC in FLD 117/119. If you have any questions regarding assessment tests, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call (314) 392-2364. It is a graduation requirement at MBU that students must meet the following assessment criteria:
Per the undergraduate academic catalog, the student will meet assessment criteria established by the faculty as follows:
The Accuplacer is a placement test used to place incoming students into the appropriate English and Mathematics classes. This assessment is given regularly throughout the summer and as needed throughout the school year.
Freshmen and students who have completed between 55 and 89 credit hours (at least 30 credits at MBU) must take the Proficiency Profile assessment. This assessment gauges skills and understanding across general education-required courses typically taken and finished by the junior year. This assessment is offered in the fall and spring semesters.
The Major Field Test (MFT) is required for graduating Seniors studying biology, bio-chemistry, bio-technology, business, chemistry, computer science, criminal justice, English, history, math, music and psychology. Senior education majors pursuing certification in biology, business education, chemistry, English and math must take the Major Field Test to satisfy the concentration requirement. This test is given during the students’ final semester. This test gauges skills and understanding obtained in upper division, major required courses. This test is given in the fall, spring and summer semesters.
*For students studying exercise science and sport management, there is an exit exam. This test is given during the students’ final semester, as a part of their capstone course.
The MBA Major Field Test, MBA MFT, is given as part of the University’s desire to enhance the MBA program. The results of the exam lets the University know where it stands in relation to other MBA programs. It also helps the University know if there are any opportunities for improvement or areas that need to be addressed in the curriculum, to help make the program stronger for future MBA students.
The Missouri General Education Assessment (MoGea) is a general content area assessment required for entrance into the education program. This assessment is given multiple times throughout the year across the state. For registration details and test site information, please visit the Missouri Educator Gateway Assessments website.
The Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination (CPCE) from the National Board of Certified Counselors is required for students in the Master of Arts in Counseling (Licensure) program. This test is given during the student’s final semester, although they may choose to test at an earlier date. This test gauges skills and understanding obtained in all required and elective coursework in the counseling program. This test is given in the fall, spring and summer semesters.
