Study Skills Workshops

The ASC offers a variety of workshops and handouts to help students with study skills like time management, test preparation, note taking and reading and memory strategies. Students can also meet one-on-one with a study skills coach to help develop these skills. Students can receive an hour of chapel credit and athletes can receive an hour of study hall credit for attending.

Fall 2015 Study Skills Workshops:

  • Surviving College: 10 Steps to Academic Success
    • Wednesday September 2, 10 am – 11 am in FLD 115
  • Train Your Brain: Maximize your Memory
    • Thursday October 1, 1 pm – 2 pm in FLD 115
  • Time Management and Organization
    • Wednesday November 11, 11 am – 12 pm in FLD 115

Study Skills Coaching

Study skills coaches help students develop organizational and study techniques like time management, goal setting, memory and textbook strategies, taking lecture notes, exam preparation and overcoming test anxiety. A Study Skills Coach is available on a walk-in basis and by appointment.

Fall 2015 Study Skills Hours by appointment:

  • Monday: 8:30 am – 4 pm
  • Tuesday: 8:30 am – 4 pm
  • Thursday: 8:30 am – 4 pm
  • Friday: 8:30 am – 3 pm

Fall 2015 Study Skills Hours for walk-in:

  • Monday: 8 am – 5 pm
  • Tuesday: 8 am  – 8 pm
  • Wednesday: 8 am – 5 pm
  • Thursday: 8 am – 5 pm
  • Friday: 8 am – 5 pm
