How do I log on to campus library computers?


How do I log on to campus library computers?
You must have a current MBU ID to use computers and check items out from the library. Log on to library computers using the number under your picture on your ID and create a password. The username and password is the same as your Canvas or myMBUaccount
If a problem occurs or you forget your password, contact the IT department at 314-392-2377.

How do I locate library materials?


How do I locate library materials?
On the Jung-Kellogg Library homepage, there are links for “MBU Library Catalog” under Find Books and “Databases A-Z” under Getting Started with Library Research. Click on either of these and it will link to the library resources in the Jung-Kellogg Library.

If you cannot find the materials you need, contact the Reference Librarians at 314-392-2340 or library@mobap.edu.

How long can library materials be...


How long can library materials be checked out for?
Books can be checked out for four weeks and then renewed if there is no hold on them. A/V materials can be checked out for 7 days and then renewed once if there is no hold on them. Reference works must remain in the library.

A total of 25 items can be checked out at one time.

Can I view a list of library materials I have checked out currently?
Yes. Go to the Jung-Kellogg Library home page. Under “Find Books” click on the “MBU Library Catalog” navigation button. At the top of the “Library Catalog” search page, there is a blue banner that lists MOBIUS, Bridges, Missouri Baptist University, My Library Account, Help, Featured Lists, and Course Reserves. Click on My Account and enter your name and MOBIUS ID. (The MOBIUS ID is located on the back of the student ID. Example: 0000123456MBU). If any items are checked out, the items will appear on the “My Account” page.

How do I request books from other lending...


How do I request books from other lending institutions?
On the Jung-Kellogg Library page, click on the “MOBIUS Catalog” link under “Find Books.” Do a search for a book by keyword, author, or title. Once the book is found, check to make sure that the book is available. If the book is available, click on the Request link. On the next page, from the drop-down menu choose Bridges for the cluster. Click on “submit information”. On the next page, enter your name and MOBIUS ID. (The MOBIUS ID is located on the back of the Student ID. Example: 0000123456MBU.) For the pick-up cluster, choose Bridges from the drop-down menu. For the pick-up location, choose Missouri Baptist University from the drop-down menu. Click on “Submit”. The next page will say if the transaction was successful.

How can I access library databases from off campus?
You must have a current MBU ID to access library databases. On the Jung-Kellogg Library homepage under “Getting Started with Library Research.” Click on the navigation button that says “Databases A-Z”. You will be linked to the next page that lists the MBU subscription databases. To access a database, click on the name of the database. A login box may appear. In the login box, enter a current MBU ID and password. (The Canvas/myMBU login and password will work.)

If problems arise in accessing the databases from off-campus, contact the IT Department at 314-392-2377 or email helpdesk@mobap.edu.

What services are available at the library?


What services are available at the library?
Reference assistance with professional librarians, full-text database access, inter-library loans and group library orientations and bibliographic lessons are available at the library.

To schedule an orientation or bibliographic session, email library@mobap.edu or fill out the Request Library Instruction form on the library’s website.

How long can faculty and staff check out library materials?
Faculty and staff can keep library materials for 120 days. If faculty or staff finish the materials prior to the return date, it is requested they return the materials so others may use them.

Can a faculty member reserve items from...


Can a faculty member reserve items from the library?
Please review the following policies before completing the Course Reserve Request Form
(printable pdf) and return to the Circulation Desk at the Jung-Kellogg Library or email library@mobap.edu.

  • Provide the call number for any item placed on reserve from MBU’s collection. Photocopies and other items provided by the instructor should be noted as Personal Copy.
  • Photocopied chapters and articles should only be used one semester under “fair use.” To use multiple items, you need to have permission from the publisher. When photocopying from a book no more than 10% of the book is allowed. When photocopying from a journal, only one article is allowed per issue. The instructor must sign the reserve form themselves, since permission to use the material was given to them. Keep copyright permission letters handy in case any questions surface regarding the reserve material.
  • Videos and sound recordings may be placed on reserve. Listening and viewing stations are available in the Library.
  • Materials (other than photocopies) received through MOBIUS or Interlibrary Loan cannot be placed on reserve.

Can a faculty member review their class reserve list online?
Yes. Go to the Jung-Kellogg Library home page. Under “Find Books” click on the “MBU Library Catalog” navigation button. At the top of the “Library Catalog” search page, there is a blue banner that lists MOBIUS, Bridges, Missouri Baptist University, My Library Account, Help, Featured Lists, and Course Reserves. Click on Course Reserves. On the next page, type in either the course name and/or the professor’s name. A results page will appear with the materials that have been placed On Reserve under that professor’s name.

Can a book from another lending...


Can a book from another lending institution be placed on a faculty member’s reserve list?
No. If a professor wants a particular title of a book or other type of research material, please contact the Director of Library Services, Mrs. Jeanna Ryner, at Jeanna.Ryner@mobap.edu or call 314-392-2319. Please provide Mrs. Ryner with the title of the work, the author’s name, the publisher, and, if possible, the ISBN number.

To schedule a library orientation, fill out the Request Library Instruction form or contact library@mobap.edu.
