Navigate Missouri Baptist University as a Spartan!
Beginning Fall 2022 all incoming international students will be assigned a mentor to help them navigate their first semester as a Spartan! IMP Was created with the goal of connecting international and domestic students through a mentoring relationship that supports academic success, encourages cultural interaction, and bridges the community.
Current Students
We are so excited for your interest in becoming a mentor! Becoming friends with an international student and investing in their time here in America and at MBU can have amazing rewards! This is a great opportunity to boost your resume, build your leadership skills, and receive service credits. However, there is a level of commitment and responsibility that comes with this exciting opportunity.
Requirements:
- Sophomore or Junior domestic student
- Attend the mentor training on Wednesday, 6 April 2022
- Contact student through Zoom prior to their arrival in the US
- Give the student a tour of campus and of resources shortly after their arrival
- Meet with the student twice a month
- These meetings should encourage discussion of cultural differences and similarities, academic success, and other topics that will be provided to you
- Attend one group event a month with your student
- First event will be in August
