2015 Spring Speaker Series to Feature Dr. William H. Willimon

Missouri Baptist University will host Dr. William H. Willimon, a notable reverend and scholar, as the featured speaker for the Spring Speaker Series Feb. 4-5.

Willimon continues to serve as dean of Duke Chapel and Professor of the Practice of Christian Ministry at Duke University, an honor he has held for twenty years. In 2008, Willimon served as the UMC Bishop of the North Alabama Conference until returning to Duke University in 2012.

Willimon received his B.A. from Wofford College, an M.Div., from Yale Divinity School and an S.T.D, Doctorate of Sacred Theology, from Emory University. In addition, he has received 13 honorary doctorate degrees.

One of Willimon’s 60 books, “Worship as Pastoral Care” is considered a theological classic. Throughout his career, Willimon has sold more than 1 million copies of all his works combined.
