We are excited you are interested in joining the Residence Life Team! Please read this application carefully; you will find pertinent information regarding qualifications for RAs, important dates, job requirements and more.

Applications must be completed no later than 4:30 p.m. on
February 25, 2022.

For both new and returning applicants to be considered complete, you must also sign up for an interview time slot outside of the Residence Life Office in Spartan Village 503 no later than 4:30 p.m. on February 25, 2022.

Important Dates

Residence Assistants must be available on the following dates.

August 5, 2022 – RA Move In
August 6-19, 2022 – RA/Leadership Training
August 20-21, 2022 – Welcome Weekend
August 22, 2022 – Fall Classes Begin
December 16, 2022 – Dorms close for Christmas
January 7, 2023 – RAs Training
January 9, 2023 – Spring Classes Begin
April 28, 2023 – Dorms close for Summer
May 2, 2023 – Last Day for RAs (possibly sooner)

Qualifications

1. Have and maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
2. Full-time student (12-18 credit hours)
3. Off-campus employment, extracurricular activities, and extra credit hours must be reviewed and approved by the Residence Director

Job Description

The Residence Assistant (RA) is a full-time student employed as an integral member of the Residence Life staff. RAs live in a hall with a group of 12-30 residents and work with them in areas of advising, programming, discipline, administration and general operation of the residence hall. The RA position is considered to be the RA’s principal non-academic activity. It may be necessary for the RA to limit their extra-curricular activities in order to fulfill their duties.

Compensation

RA compensation is equal to the charge of room and board for the fall and spring semesters, credited to the student’s account.
