New Spartan Bookstore is now open

Missouri Baptist University’s new Spartan Bookstore opened Monday, March 25. The new building, located between the Perk coffeehouse and the Jung-Kellogg Library, marks the entrance to the University’s new Spartan Village.

The 4,000 square foot building is twice the size of the previous location, which was long located inside the Thomas and Virginia Field Academic Hall.

With the additional space, the Spartan Bookstore offers an increased selection of apparel, accessories and snacks.  The new layout and additional space allows students to locate needed textbooks more easily, and decrease the time spent waiting in line.

The construction of phase 2 of Spartan Village, a planned residential community for the University’s growing number of residential students, is on schedule to open fall of 2013. The 34,000 square foot housing complex will provide another living option for students. The new housing will feature communal living spaces and kitchens in every suite, and provide living space for an additional 100 students.
