MBU Taps Schuyler Vowell as New Campus Minister

ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist University Associate Vice President for Spiritual Formation and Assistant Professor of Theology Dr. Aaron Lumpkin has announced that Schulyer Vowell has been hired as the University’s campus minister. In the role, Vowell will provide spiritual leadership and opportunities for spiritual growth to MBU students. He began his duties on Monday, October 10.

“Schuyler is passionate to see students know and experience the love of Christ and the joy of the Christian community,” Lumpkin said. “Whether a student is exploring the faith or desiring to grow in their relationship with Christ, I am confident that Schuyler will help shepherd students to know, love and follow Jesus,” added Lumpkin.

Before joining the MBU staff, Vowell served most recently as associate pastor of youth and young adults at Rooftop Church in Affton, MO. He also launched and led a college ministry on the campus of Murray State University in Kentucky. He holds a BA in education from Murray State University and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Covenant Theological Seminary.

Vowell and his wife, Chandler, have a daughter, Gwenivere. The family lives in south St. Louis City.
