MBU Spring Speaker Series features Dr. Molly Marshall
The annual Spring Speaker Series at Missouri Baptist University featured guest Molly Marshall Ph.D., from Feb. 14-16.
Marshall serves as president and professor of theology and spiritual formation at Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City.
“I love to witness what transpires in the lives of students as they engage the great intellectual heritage of the church,” Marshall said. “I love even more when they discover their depth of giftedness and begin to sow seeds of hope in the congregations where they practice their craft.”
With more than 30 years in theological education, Marshall previously served as faculty at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville as well as work in youth, collegiate and ministerial roles across Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Kentucky. She is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University, with her M.Div. and Ph.D. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Additionally, Marshall completed graduate work at Tantur Ecumenical Institute, Jerusalem, Israel; Cambridge University, Cambridge, England; and Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, New Jersey, and resident scholar at the Institute for Ecumenical and Cultural Research. In 2012-2013, she was a Christian Leadership Initiative Fellow, sponsored by American Jewish Committee and Shalom Hartman Institute, Jerusalem, Israel. Her work can be read through published writings and she received numerous awards throughout the past decade, including The Betty Galloway Advocacy for Women in Ministry Award, Howard Moody Award, Baptist Women in Ministry and more.
