MBU Hosts 5th Annual MBU Freedom Run for Ronald 5k

Spartacus and Ronald McDonald have joined forces yet again. Missouri Baptist University and the Ronald McDonald House will host the fifth annual MBU Freedom Run for Ronald 5k  on November 8, 2014.

This fun run/walk benefits the Ronald McDonald House, which provides a “home away from home” for families of hospitalized children, and students in the MBU Health and Sport Sciences Division.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the race begins at 9 a.m. at Missouri Baptist University’s main campus, ending at the Ronald McDonald House on the campus of Mercy Hospital. Shuttles will be available to provide return transportation to the MBU Campus.

Early bird registration, which is $20 per person, is due Oct. 28. Registration is $25 after that and on race day. The cost for MBU students is $8. Snacks and beverages will be provided at the finish line, and all pre-registered participants will receive a t-shirt.

BENEFICIARY: Ronald McDonald House Charities

Since 1981, RMHC of Metro St. Louis has served as a “home-away-from-home” for more than 30,000 families traveling to St. Louis with seriously ill children. The three houses provide a comfortable bed, warm meals, hot showers, and a network of families who share the similar burden of having a seriously ill child. In addition, three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms have provided comfort and care to more than 10,000 families of pediatric inpatients at St. Louis hospitals since 2005. Ronald McDonald Family Rooms provide many of the same comforts of the House, but within the hospital.
