More than 800 degrees were conferred to the class of 2018 at Missouri Baptist University’s 46th graduation ceremony on May 1, 2018 at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri.

Per MBU tradition, graduates, faculty and administrators were ushered into the arena by an ensemble of bagpipe players. The evening began with gratitude to the graduates’ families and faculty by Dr. Keith Ross—now in his first year as University president—and his own reflection in graduating from Missouri Baptist College in 1987 in the lower level of the Thomas and Virginia Field Academic Hall.

“We’ve come along way,” Ross noted. “Regardless of the path you followed, you each have at least one thing in common—you likely would not be here today were it not for the efforts of many people who have supported and encouraged you.”

Chancellor Dr. Alton Lacey’s delivered the keynote address to the graduates after serving more than 24 years of as MBU president.

To end the evening, Dr. Joy Powell, associate professor of fine arts, was presented with the Distinguished Professor Award.
