Under the direct supervision of the Director of Campus Management Systems / Data Management & Institutional Reporting Specialist, the CAMS Technical Analyst is responsible for assisting the Director of Campus Management Systems / Data Management & Institutional Report Specialist in keeping all SIS related software and its associated portals running effectively and efficiently.
Basic Function
The SIS Analyst will assess, recommend, build, deliver, support, and train users on associated application integrations, customizations and required technologies in support of the SIS and its components. Assistance will also be provided as needed in the extraction and collation of institutional data for the purpose of analysis, strategic planning, and institutional, federal, state, and private party reporting requirements.
Responsibilities and Authority
Under the direction of the Director of Campus Management Systems / Data Management & Institutional Reporting Specialist, the Data Management & Reporting Assistant will be responsible for accomplishing the following duties:
- Develop, implement, code, and maintain interfaces from SIS to third party applications.
- Analyze, define, and document requirements for: data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls and updates.
- Researches and evaluates software and hardware to assist in programming or to use as program platforms.
- Provides on-going support of enterprise and related applications, as well as functional and technical problem resolution.
- Maintains and supports application related systems/servers to ensure minimal downtime and loss of productivity and service
Relationships
The SIS Analyst is directly accountable to the Director of Campus Management Systems / Data Management & Institutional Reporting Specialist for the proper interpretation and fulfillment of his/her specific and general responsibilities and related authority, as well as his/her relationships with faculty, staff, and administration.
Receive the support of appropriate personnel from IT in implementing technical aspects of programming and updates to the campus management software and portals such as SQL or other programming languages.
Performance Measurement Criteria
The Director of Campus Management Systems / Data Management & Institutional Reporting Specialist shall conduct an annual performance evaluation. This will include an assessment of the degree to which goals and objectives were met, procedures followed, an analysis of strengths and weaknesses based on a review of this job description and recent performance, relationships maintained, and any proposed personal and professional development.
Minimum Requirements
- Education and experience: Bachelor’ degree in Information Technology or other related technical discipline or Associates Degree in information technology or other related technical discipline and 5 years of experience in enterprise level or large-scale complex database programming environment required, in lieu of bachelor’s degree. Other relevant experience will also be considered.
- Two or more years of experience with the following:
• Web development, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C#. ASP.NET.
• PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or other language for the utilization of API calls
• RESTful API development and execution within applications, calling APIs
and processing returned data.
• SQL Server development – stored procedures, views, dynamic SQL, query
tuning, troubleshooting problematic queries, review and take ownership of
other developer’s code.
• SSRS, SSIS, PowerBI. - Personal qualities: Integrity, patience, energetic, positive, professional, team player, self-motivated, detail oriented
- Spiritual qualities: Strong commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and a history of faithful participation in a church.
