MBU is holding its fourth annual International Education Week Nov. 10-14 in conjunction with the U.S. departments of state and education.

The International Education week’s purpose is to:  “promote international understanding and build support for international educational exchange by encouraging the development of programs that prepare Americans to live and work in a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study in the United States,” according to the U.S. departments of State and Education.

This worldwide event complements the mission of the university, which states “The University is committed to enriching its students’ lives spiritually, intellectually, and professionally, and to preparing students to serve in a global and culturally diverse society.”

Currently, students from more than 20 countries attend MBU.

The week is featuring the following events aimed at raising awareness of other cultures:

The Amazing Race

Students will compete in a fun-filled, week-long event that will test their knowledge of the world and other cultures. To participate, visit www.mobap.edu/amazingrace.

Where in the World Have You Been? Photo Contest

Students, faculty and staff can submit photos to the contest. Submissions will be seen around campus, and contest winners will receive prizes and have their work featured in the MBU Fine Arts Gallery. Enter at www.mobap.edu/travelpics.

International Dinner

Sponsored by Resident Life, on Monday evening the cafeteria will feature cuisine and culture from across the planet.

Tastes of the World

Stop by the Perk and try favorite snacks and soft drinks from around the world. Can you guess in which country these treats are popular?

Global Reach Chapel

Featuring guest speaker Rusty Ford, who serves as a missionary to Spain.

International Festival

Learn about other countries and cultures by visiting booths sponsored by international organizations, see performances from other cultures, and enjoy tasty treats from around the world.
