Full-Time Faculty in Sport Management

The Health and Sport Sciences Division at MBU’s main campus seeks a Full-time Faculty in Sport Management.

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to quality teaching. Previous university teaching, job experience, and an earned doctorate in sport management, business, or a related area are preferred. The successful candidate will teach face-to-face courses and/or online courses in the areas of sport management, facility management, tournament management, sports governance, leadership, and sports law, and supervise sport management (SMGT) practicum and internship experiences, and other courses as needed, beginning in the Fall 2023 semester.

Candidates should be self-motivated team players with excellent interpersonal skills. Salary will be determined by the successful candidate’s education, background, and experience. 


The faculty member will be responsible for:

  1. Teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in the SMGT programs. 
  2. Serve as Program Coordinator for the undergraduate SMGT program.
  3. Communicate with Health and Sport Sciences (HSS) Division Chair, students, and community partners.
  4. Providing related services to the SMGT program and University. Additional faculty responsibilities may include curriculum and program development, events planning, committee service, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. The faculty position requires an earned master’s degree in Sport Management or a related field. 
  2. Candidates must embrace a student-centered approach and have a strong passion for serving students.
  3. Candidates must have strong engagement, relationship-building, communication/public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
  4. Experience with online teaching is preferred.
