Completing Required Loan Documents

Before we can request your loan funds, you must complete the required loan documents. These documents require that you already have aFederal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) that acts as your electronic signature. See our video tutorial page for how to create an FSA ID, or click here for step-by-step instructions.

Loan Documents are completed at https://studentloans.gov

Federal Direct Student Loan Entrance Counseling (Subsidized and Unsubsidized) 

  1. Sign in with your own (the student’s) FSA ID.
  2. From the home page, select that you wish to Complete Loan Entrance Counseling (the 2nd choice).
  3. Choose Entrance Counseling (the top choice) and the blue START button.
  4. Choose Missouri Baptist to be notified and choose Undergraduate.
  5. Proceed through the screens. You must answer the “Check Your Knowledge” questions on each page.
  6. Make sure you submit the last page.

Federal Direct Student Loan Agreement (Subsidized and Unsubsidized)

  1. If you are not already signed in, sign in with your own (the student’s) FSA ID .
  2. From the home page, select that you wish to Complete a Loan Agreement (the 3rd choice) – also called a Master Promissory Note.
  3. Select MPN for Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loans (the top choice) and the blue START button.
  4. Proceed through the screens.
  5. Make sure you submit the last page.

Federal Parent PLUS Loan

  1. The parent who is requesting the loan must sign in with their own FSA ID.
  2. From the home page, the parent selects “Apply for a Direct PLUS Loan” (the 4th choice).
  3. Choose Direct PLUS Loan Application for Parents (the bottom choice) and the blue START button.
  4. Proceed through the screens.
  5. Make sure you submit the last page.

Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan Agreement

  1. If not already signed in, the parent that is requesting the loan must sign in with his/her own FSA ID.
  2. From the home page, the parent selects that he or she wishes to Complete a Loan Agreement (the 3rd choice) – also called a Master Promissory Note.
  3. Select PLUS MPN for Parents (the bottom choice) and the blue START button.
  4. Proceed through the screens.
  5. Make sure you submit the last page.

Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan Request (for students who have already received a Bachelor’s Degree and are pursuing an advanced degree)

  1. Sign in with your own (the student’s) FSA ID.
  2. From the home page, the student selects “Apply for a Direct PLUS Loan” (the 4th choice).
  3. Choose Direct PLUS Loan Application for Graduate/Professional Students (the top choice) and the blue START button.
  4. Proceed through the screens.
  5. Make sure you submit the last page.

Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan Student Loan Agreement

  1. If you are not already signed in, sign in with your own (the student’s) FSA ID.
  2. From the home page, select that you wish to Complete a Loan Agreement (the 3rd choice) – also called a Master Promissory Note.
  3. Select PLUS MPN for Graduate/Professional Students (the 2nd choice) and the blue START button.
  4. Proceed through the screens.
  5. Make sure you submit the last page.
