The Mission

Exercise is Medicine® On Campus (EIM-OC) fosters collaborative relationships and leadership on college and university campuses to promote physical activity as a vital sign of health. MBU EIM-OC promotes physical activity as a mean of prevention and treatment of illness and disease. MBU EIM-OC promotes the well-being of Missouri Baptist University’s students, faculty, and staff by targeting their physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health through exercise.

The Vision

To see all MBU campus community members discover, share and adopt the principles of Exercise Is Medicine®that will help change the culture of physical activity and chronic disease prevention and management campus wide.

Goals

  • Making movement a part of the daily campus culture
  • Assessing physical activity at every student health visit
  • Providing students with the tools necessary to strengthen healthy physical activity habits that can last a lifetime
  • Connecting university health care providers with university health fitness specialists to provide a referral system for exercise prescription
