CLINICAL ADJUNCT FACULTY – Adult Health - Missouri Baptist University

SUMMARY

The School of Nursing is seeking qualified applicants for several Clinical Adjunct Faculty to teach several clinical rotations (Adult Health). Under the direction and supervision of the Associate Dean of Nursing, the Clinical Adjunct Faculty will have the following duties:

  1. Instruct students by planning, coordinating and implementing instruction in the assigned clinical unit.  
  2. Meet with lead course faculty at the beginning of each semester to orient to the course and review student learning outcomes, course syllabus and learning resources.
  3. Orient students to the assigned affiliated clinical organization.
  4. Supervise nursing students in the clinical environment.
  5. Evaluate clinical performance of the student.
  6. Keep adequate records of grades, attendance, clinical performance and anecdotal notes on nursing students.
  7. Provide feedback about adequacy of clinical site in allowing students to meet course outcomes to the lead course faculty.
  8. Attend nursing faculty meetings as required by the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Nursing.
  9. Keep current evidence of license and education on file with the School of Nursing.
  10. Maintain current certification on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and remain up to date on any other immunizations required by the clinical organization.
  11. Maintain professional competence and participate in professional development activities. (Submit documentation of a minimum of 4 CEUs of professional development annually).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The Clinical Adjunct Faculty must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in nursing is preferred. Exceptions may be granted if a person is halfway through an MSN program and can complete the Clinical Faculty Academy OR has a BSN with at least 5 years nursing experience and can complete the Clinical Faculty Academy.
  2. Demonstrate Christian principles and ethical behavior in agreement with the University’s Statement of Faith and committed to the mission and values of the School of Nursing. Adjunct faculty will be asked to submit a Christian Statement of Faith.
  3. Maintain a spirit of cooperation and flexibility in a fast-paced environment, reflecting a positive attitude and contributing to team effort by accomplishing related tasks.
  4. Demonstrate good communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently.
  5. Demonstrate the ability to plan, organize, accomplish goals, complete assignments and manage multiple projects with accuracy.
