MBU teams compete year-round in NAIA athletics, and include All-Americans and conference champions among their ranks.
The Missouri Baptist University baseball team competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics as a part of the American Midwest Conference. Under head coach Eddie Uschold, the Spartans are historically the top team in the AMC and have been crowned the regular season champions 13 times since 1995. The Spartans made their first trip to the NAIA World Series in 2013. The team boasts 31 NAIA All-Americans to its credit in team history.
Missouri Baptist University’s men’s basketball competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics as a part of the American Midwest Conference. The team has made three trips in its history to the NAIA National Championship Tournament in 1995, 2004 and 2005, and won the conference title in 2005. In 2011, the Spartans entered the AMC tournament as the second seed and hosted two conference tournament games.
Missouri Baptist University’s men’s bowling team competes in the United States Bowling Congress as an emerging sport in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, under first-year head coach Steve Solovic. Throughout the year, the team competes alongside NAIA and NCAA Divisions I-III schools. In the 2011-2012 season, the team placed seventh among NAIA schools in the nation and 71st overall against all competition, including NCAA Division I opponents.
Missouri Baptist University’s men’s cross country team competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics as a part of the American Midwest Conference. The Spartans have claimed one conference championship since 2006 and have advanced to the NAIA Regionals in 2006 and 2007. The team competes in meets around the St. Louis region and across the country against teams from both the NAIA and NCAA Divisions I-III.

Missouri Baptist University’s men’s golf competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics under former Missouri Baptist golfer Justin Hoagland. The Spartans had two team members named to the 2012 All-Conference team and finished fourth in unaffiliated conference play.
Missouri Baptist University’s men’s indoor track and field competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics under first-year head coach Mark Sissom. The program has a rich history and has produced 31 All-Americans, including Alex Chavez, who became the 2012 3000m Race Walk National Champion as a freshman.
MBU men’s lacrosse competes in the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) as a part of the Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference. The team is coached by Andy Joly, who is in his eighth season at the helm. The team has one conference championship to its credit (2011) as well as one trip to the MCLA National Championship Tournament in the same season.
Missouri Baptist University’s men’s outdoor track and field team competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics under first-year head coach Mark Sissom. The program achieved new heights in 2012 as three members of the team were named All-Americans: Junior Hines, 2nd place in the 400m Hurdles; DeWain Meeks, 4th place in the 200m Dash; Alex Chavez, 3rd place in the 5,000m Race Walk.
Missouri Baptist University’s men’s soccer competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics as a part of the American Midwest Conference. The team has a proud tradition, including former NAIA All-American and Major League Soccer player Lawrence Olum. The team has won two regular season conference titles in its history.
Missouri Baptist University men’s tennis competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics under head coach Cole Stevenson. In 2012, the top doubles team went 10-0 heading into the unaffiliated conference tournament and dropped its only match of the year in that competition.
Missouri Baptist University’s men’s volleyball competes against NAIA schools in the Mid-America Men’s Volleyball Intercollegiate Conference, as a part of the MAMVIC West. Last season, the Spartans finished their season in the semifinals of the National Championship Tournament after earning a berth with a win against the second ranked and eventual national champion Park University in the semifinals of the MAMVIC West Tournament. MBU is coached by former player and alumnus Tom Young.
Missouri Baptist University’s men’s wrestling competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Under eleventh year coach, Coach Brian Jackson the program has had nine wrestlers earn All-American status at least once in their career. Last season, four wrestlers were named All-Americans, setting a school record. The team also set a new MBU record in 2011-2012, as it finished in the Top 10 for the first time (10th overall).
