Beginning Fall 2022 all incoming international students will be assigned a mentor to help them navigate their first semester as a Spartan! IMP Was created with the goal of connecting international and domestic students through a mentoring relationship that supports academic success, encourages cultural interaction, and bridges the community.

Current Students: 

We are so excited for your interest in becoming a mentor! Becoming friends with an international student and investing in their time here in America and at MBU can have amazing rewards! This is a great opportunity to boost your resume, build your leadership skills, and receive service credits. However, there is a level of commitment and responsibility that comes with this exciting opportunity.

Requirements:

• Sophomore or Junior domestic student
• Attend the mentor training on Wednesday, 6 April 2022
• Contact student through Zoom prior to their arrival in the US
• Give the student a tour of campus and of resources shortly after their arrival
• Meet with the student twice a month
• These meetings should encourage discussion of cultural differences and similarities, academic success, and other topics that will be provided to you
• Attend one group event a month with your student
• First event will be in August
