As part of the play therapy training process, all students must complete play therapy supervision and play therapy experience. By APT standards, all applicants for the RPT or SB-RPT credentials must
complete 35 hours of supervision by an RPT-S and 350 hours of play therapy experience (direct client contact utilizing play therapy methods and techniques).
This component of the play therapy training process is not
covered under the tuition cost nor is it a formal part of the play therapy program offered at MBU. The MBU Play Therapy Program is only responsible for the instructional portion of the play therapy training process. Students will be provided a list of RPT-S’s in their area and a list of approved internship sites, if needed, to complete this component of the play therapy training process. Students are exclusively
responsible for finding a RPT-S for their 35 hours of supervision and an internship site for the 350 hours of play therapy experience required for RPT and SB-RPT credentialing.
For questions regarding the supervision and play therapy experience component of the play therapy training process please review the RPT and SB-RPT Requirements section of our page or contact program coordinator Danielle White. email@example.com
