Maintenance Technician

I.             Basic Function

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations and is responsible for maintenance of University facilities and equipment.

II.            Responsibilities and Authority

A.            Responsible for the day-to-day repair and maintenance of campus buildings and equipment.

B.            Keeps the Director of Operations informed of current in-house maintenance projects and upcoming maintenance needs for strategic planning purposes.

C.            Performs other duties as may be deemed necessary by the Director of Operations

D.            Maintain strict compliance with safety protocols. the Director of Operations

E.            Maintain compliance with local fire and building codes.

F.            Be available to crossover to grounds and help plow as needed for snow events.

III.           Relationships

A.            The Maintenance Technician reports to the Director of Operations

B.            The Maintenance Technician interacts with personnel in all University departments to communicate and coordinate maintenance activities.

IV.          Performance Measurement Criteria

A.            An annual performance review shall be conducted by the Director of Operations The review will include a self evaluation of specific tasks and duties, as well as an overall evaluation.

V.            Minimum Requirements

A.            High school diploma.

B.            Prior experience in a trade relevant to facility maintenance.

C.            Proficient in use of mechanical and hand tools.

D.            Able to work at heights greater than 20 feet and on rooftops.

E.            Physical ability to bend, stoop, crawl, lift up to 80 pounds, climb ladders and make overhead repairs.

F.            Adequate written and oral communication skills.

G.           Computer literate.

H.            Self disciplined, well-organized, energetic, patient, honest, positive, and motivated.

I.             Ability to follow verbal and written directions.

J.             Good interpersonal skills.

K.            Understand that this position may require, from time to time, an after normal working hours response to campus emergency situations.

L.             A strong Christian commitment with evidence of local church attendance.

VI.          Compensation

A.                 Salary negotiable based on experience.
