Assessment and Accreditation Data Coordinator

Position Summary

This position requires coordinating the program of assessment activities for the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research (OIER).  Assessment includes responsibilities in the areas of data collection, data analysis and reporting, data problem solving, and alignment of university goals. Work with individual divisions and departments to assist with specialized accreditation needs across the university.  Oversee the collection and analysis of institutional data.

Responsibilities Include but not limited to

Data collection

  • Develop data collection schedule for assessment and accreditation data on an ongoing basis
  • Develop, maintain, and manage a data warehouse for institutional assessment data
  • Develop a process to hold Assessment Team Mentors accountable for data collection for various tasks required for assessment and accreditation
  • Work with IT and student information system staff to develop audit process and procedure to ensure data quality; develop process to archive census files for use in data warehouse.

Data analysis and reporting

  • Review assessment trends on continual basis to develop and respond with appropriate assessment processes, procedures, and tools.
  • Serve as liaison for deans, division chairs, program directors in understanding testing data, suggesting alternative assessments, obtaining specialized reports, and making recommendations based on normed standards
  • Process data import/exports that relate to assessment and/or accreditation
  • Coordinate data entry and validation for accreditation collection and reporting

Alignment of assessment efforts

  • Work with university community to develop centralized process for assessment, data collection, and analysis
  • Work with university administration, division chairs, faculty, and staff to align assessment goals and criteria across the university.

Performance and Evaluation

Annual program review is conducted by the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Accreditation in conjunction with the Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Research. This review will include an assessment of the degree to with annual objectives have been accomplished. 

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

Masters degree in Education or other higher education-related field (doctorate preferred)

Five years of experience in the teaching field or other appropriate experiences.

Knowledge and skill in institutional research, assessment, and compiling data using appropriate collection system and able to analyze/summarize data.

Communicate effectively, both written and oral.

Spiritual Qualities

Strong commitment to Jesus Christ and evidence of active participation in a local church. 

Integration of faith into all MBU related tasks and activities including research and teaching.
