Worship, Teaching and Skiing

December 12, 2007

Students looking for a fun adventure over Christmas break should consider joining fellow students from across the Midwest at this year’s Denver Christmas Conference. It will be a time of worship, fellowship and teaching—not to mention a day of skiing for those who want to hit the white slopes of Colorado.

DCC is an annual conference hosted by Campus Crusade for Christ in Denver. This year, it will take place Jan. 2-7. The theme for this year’s conference is “masterpiece”—encouraging students to allow Christ to have full control over their lives to transform them into his masterpiece.

MBU student Kyle Dresser, who attended DCC last year, will be one of the attendees at this year’s conference. Some of the things that Dresser liked most about last year’s conference were the messages given by the conference speakers. “You learn really solid evangelical tools,” said Dresser.

This will be the seventh year that Lee Watkins, this year’s emcee for the conference, has attended DCC. “It’s just a lot of fun!” Watkins said. Being around so many other people with the same purpose as well as listening to solid teaching have been strong factors that have drawn him back to the conference year after year.

“If knowing God is the most important thing and DCC is a place where that happens consistently year after year, why wouldn’t I encourage people to go?” Watkins said with a smile.
