Three-Day Sermon Encourages People to Follow God

A three-day sermon was held by all seven Chinese churches in the St. Louis area at Chinese Christian Church from Oct. 26-28. Pastor Feng from mainland China was invited to lead. The theme was “Between God and Human,” and there were three different topics throughout the sermon.
The main topic for Oct.26 was about the relationship between science and the supernatural. Most people today use science as the de-facto standard to prove things right or wrong, including the existence of God. Feng laid the facts out indicating that science can neither prove nor disprove the existence of God. “With everything around us and what science has caught up so far with God, it actually takes more faith to be an atheist,” said Feng.
The second day’s topic was “The Only God.” Feng pointed out that the true God is Jehovah. He used Kwan-yin, Buddhism and Islam for comparison and provided the fact that the Bible was written over 1500 years by more than 40 authors. “The most important thing is that the messages were always consistent and proven true over all this time,” said Feng. “There is only one explanation – the Bible was written by man chosen by God through His divine intervention.”
The topic of the last day was “The God of Salvation.” Feng gave the audience an example of the saying “we are created and born with sin.” He said: “Why could a child be so deceiving since childhood? All parents want to teach their children what is good. but all children figure out the deceiving part automatically. That is the sin in us.”
Through out the three-day sermon, Feng delivered a message that believing in Christ as the savior and messiah that God the Father had sent was the only access to eternal life in heaven. Each day there were about 200 Asian people from different churches who went to the sermon. Many people heard the calling of God and determined to be Christian.
To make sure that all the audience could receive the message clearly and immediately, Chinese Christian Church provided simultaneous interpretation from Mandarin to Cantonese and English. “The interpretation is great,” said Shawn Teo from Singapore. “I’m so glad I came to the sermon. I learned something about the relationships among God, human beings, science and this society. Hopefully Pastor Feng will come back and give us another sermon soon.”
