Open Mic Night a Huge Success

On Wednesday night last week MBU’s coffee house, the Perk, was filled with approximately 90 students for yet another “Open Mic Night” hosted by Student Activities Council (SAC) and Student Government Association (SGA).
During the evening, students enjoyed a time of fun and fellowship as they gathered to enjoy their favorite coffee house beverages and the musical talents of fellow students. “It was a lot of fun just fellowshipping with other people,” MBU freshman, Katie Cline stated. “It was cool seeing others’ talents!”
“I thought ‘Open Mic Night’ was a great success,” said Davy McVicker, promotions officer for SAC and SGA vice president. McVicker explained that as the groups planned the event they were hoping to at least get enough acts to fill the evening and a decent amount of people to come. He said they were blown away to have the coffee house packed with students and a full evening of music.
“We look forward to seeing more people perform in the future,” McVicker said as he expressed his hope of eventually having an open mic night once every couple of weeks. Students can watch for more information on upcoming events at the promotions table in Bywaters Lounge or stop by the Student Activities office.
