And The Winner Is…

MBU is doing things a little differently this year during Homecoming Week. There will be a new contest going on called Mr. and Ms. Spirit MBU. In addition to the crowning of Homecoming king and queen, there will also be a couple crowned Mr. and Ms. Spirit MBU.

This is no ordinary gala where getting all dressed up will guarantee you the winning prizes. MBU is making the competing couples work hard for the title of most spirited duo.

Lara Robey, the director of student activities, said: “This is much more than any other contest at MBU. Throughout each day of Homecoming Week, the contending couples will have to compete in challenges and earn points; and pairs with the lowest points will be eliminated every day. By Thursday of that week, there will be one final challenge at the Homecoming Chapel, and based on the winner of that, we will determine the Mr. and Ms. Spirit MBU.”

Rules for the contest are very simple. Each couple must consist of one female and one male, but they do not have to be dating. Also, the pairs must compete in every challenge throughout the week, unless they are eliminated.

The specifics of each challenge have not been determined yet. However, the obstacles do require endurance, creativity and generosity. Do not think these tough challenges will not be worth it. The winning twosome receives a $300 cash prize, a gift certificate to The Perk, a pair of Homecoming shirts and a trophy.
