Same Old Books, Brand New Library
September 13, 2007

Nearly five months after beginning, the library renovation project is nearing completion. A few more opened boxes down the road, MBU students will be able to enjoy an entirely renovated, more study-friendly library.
According to Fred McKinney, reference librarian at Jung-Kellog Library, the renovated library contains many more desks and tables than the old library did. In turn, this means significantly more study area for students.
Not all of the plans have been put in place yet, however. For example, computers are still a work in-progress. “We actually have one less right now,” said McKinney, “although we are planning on getting more.”
The interior of the library was completely redone. The renovated library is “new” all the way from the carpet to the lighting, except for one thing: the books.
The renovation did not affect the library’s holdings one way or the other. So, at the end of the day, we have the same library. It’s just brand new.
