Every college student struggles. The first struggle is to actually get through college. The second is to do so financially. That means students are usually strapped when it comes to getting out and having fun. These days, everything has a price, and students never stop wanting to have fun.
The retreat from the classroom and homework is almost needed in order to survive college. Well, there is an event coming up which many students will enjoy, and it will only cost a few dollars for an entire day worth of enjoyment. That is this year’s Pointfest.
One may ask, “What is Pointfest?” According to Kristyn Potter, a freshman at Truman University, it is “the greatest thing that has happened to life.” It is a day full of rock music. It is, as the tagline says, “29 Bands for 29 Bucks.” Some of the bands in the line-up are Breaking Benjamin, Sick Puppies, Evans Blue, Three Days Grace and The Starting Line.
This year, Pointfest will be at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on Sunday, Sept. 30. It begins at 10:00 a.m. For more information on this event or to find out how to get tickets, visit the Point’s website at http://www.1057thepoint.com/Features/pointfest.aspx.
