Exist 2 Exit

September 5, 2007

By Christa Graham

This semester Missouri Baptist University has several new and exciting gatherings on campus. One such gathering is “Exist 2 Exit,” which is held on Tuesday nights from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the North Hall game room. The format of “Exist 2 Exit” is very laidback. Each session begins with a time for socializing and eating and is accompanied by live music. Then, the meeting includes a fun activity such as a game or skit. After this, Jonathon White, the campus pastor, leads a discussion of the week’s selected topic.

Many students who have observed the “Exist 2 Exit” flyers around campus or have heard the announcements regarding “Exist 2 Exit” may have asked the question: “What does ‘Exist 2 Exit’ mean?” “Exist 2 Exit” refers to surviving successfully in college in order to exit successfully out of college, said White.

One might also ask the question of what exactly the purpose of “Exist 2 Exit” is.
“Our goal is to talk about real college life issues and to bring real success for those in college,” White stated. The topics range from relationships and image to money, culture and faith. Some upcoming lessons include “What Is Going To Hit You After Graduation,” “Myths About Marriage,” and “The Great Roommate Debate.” One can tell by these topics that “Exist 2 Exit” is not a Bible study. Rather, it is a “college gathering” where “it’s a comfortable environment for everybody,” according to White. This gathering is designed to encourage and enlighten students while they battle with everyday pressures of college life. “Exist 2 Exit” is also designed to show how scripture is relevant to a college student’s life.

There are several benefits of going to the “Exist 2 Exit” meetings. One such bonus is that students receive one chapel credit for every two meetings attended. Also,
“Exist 2 Exit” is a great place to eat free junk food and to meet new people. Overall, “Exist 2 Exit” offers a great opportunity to learn how to deal with life as a college student as well as how to deal with life after college.
