The Academic Success Center provides services and resources to enhance learning inside and outside of the classroom to improve students’ success at MBU. The ASC office is in room 117 of the Field Academic Hall. We also have our own Facebook page.

Tutoring Services
Students can meet with a tutor to receive individualized help with various disciplines. We have a walk-in policy for some subjects, while others require an appointment. Please click here for the types of tutoring and available hours or click here to make an appointment.

Writing Lab
Students can meet with a writing coach to receive help with various parts of the writing process including brainstorming, structuring a paper, improving grammar, editing, and properly citing sources. Please click here for the available Writing Lab hours or click here to make an appointment.

Study Skills Development
The ASC offers a variety of workshops and handouts to help students with study skills such as time management, test preparation, note-taking, reading strategies, and memory strategies. Students may also meet one-on-one with a study skills coach to help develop these skills. Please click here for more information or click here to make an appointment.

Testing Services
Classroom make-up exams and assessment tests are coordinated through the ASC. Testing hours and assessment dates can be found here. Students may also register for DSST tests to receive college credit for what they already know.

Quest
Incoming students who are admitted to the university on probation participate in Quest. Students will have regularly scheduled meetings with the Director of the ASC or another Quest mentor. These mentoring meetings are designed to help students achieve their personal GPA goals.

Special Needs Access
The Special Needs Office provides services for individuals with major life disabilities such as physical handicaps, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, visual impairments, hearing impairments, and/or medical disabilities. In order to receive services, you must self-identify your disability to our office. To learn more, click here.
