FAQ
Q. What do I do if I have a maintenance issue in my room?
A. Contact cs@mobap.edu . Leave your name, dorm, room number and issue.
Q. What do I do if I have an issue with the internet?
A. Contact helpdesk@mobap.edu
Q. What if I don't like my roommate?
A. Understanding that everyone comes from a different background, has different ideas, and experiences is important in building relationships with your roommate and suitemates. If you have a problem with those you are living with you just first try and talk to them about it. If that does not work, talk to your RA and they will try and help you work through any issues. If this still does not remedy the situation, you can request a roommate change after the first two weeks of school. Room changes are not always feasible.
Q. Can I stay in the dorm over a closed break?
A. Only those that have a school related reason are allowed to stay in the dorm over closed break. This requires a letter to the RD prior to the break and approval will be given by the RD after verifying the request with the appropriate faculty/staff.
Q. Can I have overnight guests in my room?
A. Residents can have overnight guests of the same sex over the age of 13. They must have approval from the Resident Director and register the guest with the RA on Duty. Anyone staying in the dorm after the dorm has closed for the night must be registered.
Q. What do I do if get sick while at school?
A. There are not health services located on campus. Each dorm has a first aid kit with supplies and some over the counter medications that are available to students. We encourage students to communicate with their health care provider for their health. If the student has a communicable disease, they should contact the RD and the RD will follow protocol to handle the situation.
Q. How can I express my ideas for Resident Life?
A. The resident life staff values the ideas and opinions of residents. There are suggestion boxes in each dorm lobby and students can attend the Resident Hall Association meetings. They call all express can concerns or ideas to the RA or RD in person.
Q. What is the difference between vacating the dorm and checking out of the dorm?
A. Students that are leaving the dorm with the intent of not returning should fill out a vacate form. They should make an appointment with their RA to fill out the proper paperwork and have their room inspected. Checking out the student plans to return to the dorm. They still make an appointment with their RA to fill out appropriate paperwork and have their room inspected.
Q. Can I stay in the dorm over the summer?
A. Only students that have summer classes or are working on campus that do not have any discipline issues are allowed to stay over the summer. Students will not have a meal plan during this time. Students must fill out a Summer Housing contract.
