Interests/Hobbies: Softball, Mountain biking, coaching Rawlings Redbirds , cooking, enjoying time with my family and my dog, Eve. Brief History: I was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1984, but only lived there until March of ‘89 when my father was transferred by his job to Detroit, Michigan. Most of my adolescence was spent in Detroit and that is where I fell in love with sports. The Detroit Red Wings were my first love, I couldn’t get enough. Watching greats like Steve Yzerman and Vladimir Konstantinov inspired me to want to participate in sport at a very young age. I started playing hockey at the age of nine, but I had already been playing baseball since I was five. I excelled at both sports and eventually won a State Championship with the Plymouth Stingrays Hockey Club in 1995. I continued to play on select baseball and hockey teams until my father was transferred yet again, this time back to Missouri, but on the St. Louis side. Due to the fact that St. Louis is a baseball hotbed of sorts and it is known as “Baseball Heaven”, I quickly became intrigued with baseball more than any other sport. By the time I was a senior at Marquette High School I became a one sport specialist and that one sport was of course baseball. I was talented and blessed enough to obtain an athletic and academic scholarship to Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. I played for the Wildcats for two years and experienced a mild case of burn out. I transferred to The University of Iowa briefly, but that wasn't what I was looking for either. I decided to move home in the winter of 2005 and attend Missouri Baptist University to become enrolled in their Sport Management program. I have been coaching the Rawlings® Redbirds since 2005, and I was recently hired as a Certified Instructor at Balls-N-Strikes in Ballwin, Missouri. I look forward to furthering my career in sport and helping others achieve what I have thru the world of sport. |
