GOAL/PROFILE

My goal is to utilize my education and hands on experience in Sports Management in the area of coaching and allow myself to move up the ladder to eventually being a head coach. I am a technologically savvy sports management graduate with internship experience, qualified for career opportunities where leadership background and creative abilities will be of value. I have wrestled for twenty years now and have coached men and women’s wrestling in one way or another for four to five years.

 

INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

Edward Jones Family YMCA, Health and Fitness, Sports Department August 2007- December 2007   Provided the departments with an extra hand. Basically shadowed the leaders until I was able to run the department on my own. After this time I was put in charge of setting up and running the sports department while my boss oversaw the operations. I also assisted other departments when they needed somebody to fill in for a missing or sick employee. I worked with budgets and the financial aspect of the job as well.   Missouri Baptist University, Athletic Department, Assisted Wrestling Coach  August 2006-December 2006   In addition to the internship program I completed, I also received practicum experience in the Missouri Baptist athletic department. I assisted the Head Wrestling coach in his duties, including running practices, budgeting, equipment purchase, and recruiting.

SPORTS MANAGEMENT SKILLS

Missouri Valley College, Student Assistant Men’s and Women’s Wrestling Coach

August 2005 –May 2006

I was a student assistant wrestling coach at Missouri Valley College for the Men’s and Women’s wrestling teams. I ran day to day operations of the team including practices and organizing the team trips. I ran the summer camps for the Men’s and Women’s wrestling team during the summer of 2005. I also planned out the budget. I was very involved in the recruiting processes.   Missouri Baptist University, Student Assistant Wrestling Coach  August 2006 - present I am a student assistant wrestling coach at Missouri Baptist University at the present time. I run the day to day operations, including practices and getting my wrestlers ready for tournaments. I help with equipment purchases, planning of trips, and the organization of running our home duals and tournaments.   Wentzville Pre-Season Wrestling Club August 2006 – Present I run and organize Wentzville-Holt High School’s pre-season training sessions. This runs for two months and two days a week. This is mainly a technique camp and very little training or conditioning.   Greater Missouri Kids Club August 2007- Present I am the head coach presently of the Greater Missouri USA wrestling club. The kids range from ages 5 years old to fourteen years old.
