Faculty Positions at MBU Main West St. Louis County Campus

Missouri Baptist University is seeking to fill a full-time faculty position for the Educational Doctorate.

Qualified candidates must have an appropriate terminal degree (Ph.D. in Curriculum is preferred) and experience working with doctoral students.  Published research in peer reviewed publications is also necessary.

Responsibilities will include teaching doctoral level courses in the proposed Ed.D. program and providing oversight of doctorate research projects.  Candidates interested in the faculty appointment should submit a cover letter, vita, three letters of reference, and an unofficial transcript of graduate work addressing one’s qualifications for the position.

Staff Positions at MBU Main West St. Louis County Campus

Director of University Communications
Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis’ leading evangelical Christian institution of higher education, is accepting applications for the position of Director of University Communications. This key administrative position oversees the University’s strategic communications efforts pertaining to public, community and media relations and marketing. More specifically, the director of UC acts as the editor and primary writer of the MBU Magazine, an award-winning, 48-page full-color, bi-annual publication, oversees www.mobap.edu and the University’s branding image, and crafts annual marketing strategies at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Ideal candidates will posses a proven commitment to Christian faith, a bachelors degree(preferably masters degree) in public relations, journalism or a related academic program, keen writing skills and a working knowledge of AP style, and at least three years of experience pertaining to public relations or journalism, preferably in higher education. Career Services Program Support Assistant (PT)

The Career Services Department is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Program Support Assistant.  The Program Support Assistant will manage all web-based technologies and programs utilized by Career Services and others which operate under the direction of the Associate Dean of Students/ Director of Career Services.

The person in this position will be accountable for the functionality and design of office websites and on-line programs and will work closely with the Web Manager to make sure that all content and programs meet University guidelines, policies and specifications.   

The Program Support Assistant will act as a liaison between Career Services, University Communications, outside vendors and the IT department to provide support for office programs and web-based technologies.  The Program Support Assistant will also take charge of developing and designing materials to promote departmental activities and events.

Qualified applicants must possess strong communication, organizational and creative abilities.  Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office programs. Knowledge of web based technologies, advertising, graphics, and art design is desired.

Requires someone who is able to work 29 hours a week between 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.  Some flexible scheduling will be allowed to accommodate office events and activities that occur after normal working hours.

Grant Writer
Missouri Baptist University is accepting applications for the position of part-time Grant Writer. The person in this position will research and identify new funding resources with an emphasis on corporations and private foundations. The individual will work both independently and collaboratively to write, edit, and submit grant requests. The Grant Writer will explore and disseminate granting opportunities, applications funding profiles to appropriate staff and faculty. Familiarity with local funding sources is a plus. There is the opportunity to work on campus or at home. This position reports to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

Qualified applicants must have a Bachelors Degree, and two years of experience is preferred. The person must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work well with both external constituents and with Missouri Baptist University faculty and staff. Other skills: self motivated, productive, organized, positive and a team player. A strong interest in Christian education, a professional commitment to fundraising work, and a zeal for advancing the mission of MBU is essential.

Sports Information Graduate Assistant
The Sports Information Department is seeking a graduate student to assist with all facets of sports information. These areas include, but are not limited to: sports photography, article writing, statistical reporting, public address, print publications, and web maintenance.
