MBU trustees approve five-year site plan, view proposed 20-year plan
May 22, 2008
Missouri Baptist University Trustees unanimously approved a dynamic five-year site plan at their regularly scheduled meeting May 22.
The plan calls for a range of strategic advances on MBU’s 68-acre West St. Louis County campus including the addition of apartment-style student housing, more academic facilities, along with the University’s current capital campaign venture to construct a 30,000-sq-.foot Sports and Recreation Complex.
The plan, submitted by St.-Louis-based Ittner Architects, also includes various campus-wide aesthetic enhancements—from infrastructure alterations to the addition of outdoor art fixtures located throughout campus.
The Trustees also viewed a proposed 20-year site plan. That document builds on the five-year plan in an effort to further maximize the overall effectiveness of the MBU campus. Both plans feature key components of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), a nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and performance of environmentally sustainable buildings.
