RE: Artist Richard Hight to lead Spring Lecture Series
Artist Richard Hight to lead Spring Lecture Series
February 4, 2008
Award-winning artist Richard Hight will use various forms of artistry to communicate Christ’s love Feb. 5-7 at MBU’s Spring Lecture Series.
Art, a powerful language, crosses social, ethnic and age barriers. Richard uses such an influential medium to capture the hearts of his audiences while sharing a testimony about the grace of Christ.
It all happens within minutes. Audience members watch as Hight’s hands dramatically work together to masterfully sculpt 100 pounds of raw clay into a larger than life size bust of Christ.
Each year, MBU holds a Spring Lecture Series during the month of February as another way to help bridge its quest for faith and learning. The free series are open to the public.
When: Feb. 5-7 at 11 a.m.
Where: Pillsbury Chapel and Dale Williams Fine Arts Center
About Hight:
Richard Hight has spent his life making the Bible come alive for his audiences. He has worked alongside many of today’s top Christian recording artists, evangelists and in some of the nation’s largest churches. He has performed for and spoken to millions of people on TV, at theaters, colleges and at houses of worship across the cultural and religious spectrum. His larger-than-life canvases are filled with vibrant color and an energy that compels his audience to stay involved in the message. Richard’s somber and moving sculpture presentation of Christ and story of Christ’s passion demands a response to the question, “What then shall you do with this man named Christ?”
