Frillmans honored posthumously
November 5, 2007
The Missouri Baptist Foundation honored Missouri Baptist University benefactors Dallas and Rosalie Frillman posthumously Nov. 1 at the University’s annual Founder’s Day Convocation.

Paul Powell, pastor of Kingshighway Baptist Church, accepts an award on behalf of the late Dallas and Rosalie Frillman Nov. 1 from Dr. James Smith, president of the Missouri Baptist Foundation, as Dr. Alton Lacey, MBU president, looks onward. The Frillmans, longtime MBU benefactors, were named 2007 honorees for the Academy of State Stewardship.
The Frillmans were named 2007 honorees for the Academy of State Stewardship, one of six esteemed awards the Foundation annually gives. The Frillmans’ longtime pastor, Paul Powell of Kingshighway Baptist Church, accepted the honor on behalf of the couple.
“This award comes with a powerful testimony as to what can happen when one surrenders to God’s plan for his or her life,” said Dr. James Smith, president of the Missouri Baptist Foundation and presenter of the award.
MBU received a $800,000 gift in 2006 from the Dallas F. Frillman Trust to help aid its pursuit of faith and learning.
Funds from the gift have been designated to the following areas:
• A scholarship fund in the name of “Rosalie Frillman Memorial Scholarship Fund” was established for MBU students to study abroad. A gift of $325,000 was designated for the fund.
• Funds in the amount of $100,000 were designated for the Dallas Frillman Guest Lecturer Fund.
• An amount of $330,000 has been designated for the construction of the classroom/conference room in MBU’s new Sports and Recreation Complex.
• Funds in the amount of $75,000 were designated for MBU’s Bosendorfer Imperial Grand Piano, which MBU acquired in 2003.
