Three new educators have joined Missouri Baptist University’s full-time faculty for the 2007-2008 academic year.

Dr. Stephanie Afful, assistant professor of psychology. Dr. Afful holds a Ph.D. and Master of Science in Social Psychology, along with a Certificate in University Teaching Skills, from Saint Louis University. She garnered her Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Drury University. She has been published in numerous scholarly works and has presented a myriad of research at academic venues nationwide. Afful is also an experienced instructor, with more than five years of collegiate classroom teaching.

Raymond Farrell, instructor of health and sport sciences and head men's basketball coach. During his 26-year coaching career, Farrell has served as head coach at both the University of Texas at Dallas and at McLennan Community College. From 1995-1998, Coach Farrell served as an associate head coach at Master’s College, which, like MBU, is a NAIA Christian institution. In addition, Farrell has worked as an assistant coach under head coach Roland Massimino at several institutions, most notably the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Cleveland State University and Villanova University. Farrell holds a Master of Science in Physical Education from East Texas State University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Health and Physical Education from West Chester University.

Amanda Vincent-Schick, instructor of health & sport sciences and head women's track and cross country coach. Vincent-Schick holds a Master of Science in Sports Administration from Northwestern State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology and Sociology from Western State College of Colorado. Most recently, Vincent-Schick worked as a health and human performance instructor and assistant track coach at Northwestern State University. During the 2003-2004 academic year, Vincent-Schick worked as an assistant track coach at Grand Valley State University. During her time there, her team broke the school record in the 4x100 meter relay. She specializes in sprints and relays.

The appointments are pending final approval from MBU's Board of Trustees at their regularly-scheduled meeting Aug. 23.
