RE: Fiddler on the Roof to Debut at MBU
Fiddler on the Roof to Debut at MBU
October 18, 2006
Marking the largest production in Missouri Baptist University history, the renowned Fiddler On The Roof is set to debut at MBU Nov. 10.
“We are thrilled to present such an important show in musical theatre at such a pivotal time in the life of the MBU Theatre Department,” said Joy Powell, instructor of theatre at MBU. “This is a wonderful opportunity to truly deepen the knowledge of our actors while providing our audiences with a production unlike anything MBU has accomplished so far.”
Known for its infectious score of songs, like “If I Were a Rich Man” and “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” Fiddler has become one of the most famous stage musicals ever.
The production, in conjunction with the launch of the University’s new Musical Theatre major, is also the largest cast musical in MBU history—enlisting more than fifty community and MBU actors.
