UPS Fund awards scholarship grant to the Missouri Colleges Fund
September 28, 2006
Citing a desire to invest in education in the State of Missouri, UPS Foundation of Atlanta, Georgia recently provided a grant of $35,750 to the Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF).
The grant will underwrite student scholarships at the 13 MCF member schools, including Missouri Baptist University. These scholarships will be awarded by the member schools on the basis of financial need.
“Missouri Baptist University is very grateful to the UPS Foundation and the Missouri Colleges Fund for this gift,” said Dr. Alton Lacey, president. “This contribution recognizes the importance of education and the significant impact that an educated workforce has on Missouri’s economy.”
The MCF was formed in 1952 as a non-profit corporation. The MCF Mission is to acquire resources to help educate students in its 13 member private liberal-arts colleges and universities.
In addition to MBU, Missouri Colleges Fund member schools include Avila University, Kansas City; Central Methodist University, Fayette; Culver-Stockton College, Canton; Drury University, Springfield; Evangel University, Springfield; Fontbonne University, St. Louis; Maryville University, St. Louis; Park University, Parkville; Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar; Westminster College, Fulton; William Jewell College, Liberty; and William Woods University, Fulton.
