MBU Students to Volunteer Across the Bi-state Region

Launching a college experience accentuated with practical purpose, more than 300 incoming Missouri Baptist University students are expected to volunteer across the bi-state region Saturday, Aug. 19.
A part of this year’s Welcome Weekend events, new MBU students will be donating their time and energy at specific sites in the St. Louis region to perform a myriad of services for their community—from building a house to scrubbing floors.
“The community service projects at Welcome Weekend really give our students a springboard to partake in long-term volunteer opportunities throughout their college experience,” said Lara Robey, MBU director of student activities. “At MBU, volunteer opportunities are integrated into coursework and many other areas of college life to help make real contributions to our community.”
When: Saturday, Aug. 19 from 1 to 5 p.m.

Purpose—MBU students will perform tasks to help improve the temporary and permanent home for children who have been displaced from their families
North St. Louis City—Habitat for Humanity

Purpose—MBU students will assist in building a home for a low-income family.
Jefferson County—All God’s Children
Near High Ridge Boulevard on Antire Road
High Ridge, Mo. 63049
Purpose—MBU students will perform a number of laborious projects to help improve a non-profit facility aimed at providing, among other things, free childcare.
