RE: MBU Appoints Development Officer
MBU Appoints Development Officer
August 2, 2006
Financial expert and former Missouri Baptist fund-raiser Phillip Hunt has been appointed as a development officer at MBU.

Phillip Hunt
Hunt’s responsibilities will include planning and implementing strategic fund-raising objectives and communicating with prospective donors in an effort to advance the University’s development programs.
“My work is a Christian ministry that has the potential to greatly change people’s lives for years to come,” Hunt said. “Through my vocation, I am able to use my expertise and giftedness for the Lord’s will.”
Hunt worked as the regional vice president at the Missouri Baptist Foundation since 2000. While there, Hunt, among other things, designed estate plans to include gifts to charitable organizations, conducted seminars addressing Christian stewardship and consulted prospective donors.
In addition to his work in fund-raising, Hunt experienced a storied career in banking before retiring from that industry in 2000 as the president and chief executive officer of a $200-million subsidiary bank in Sedalia, Mo.
Earlier this year, MBU leaders launched the largest fund-raising effort in the University’s history. The Campaign for MBU, a five-year effort to raise $18 million in cash and deferred gifts will help fund the construction of MBU’s new Sports and Recreation Complex, MBU’s endowment and planned gifts and various capital improvements, scholarships and other designated areas.
Hunt received a Bachelor of Science from Oakland City University, a Master of Science from Indiana State University and is a graduate of both the Resource Institute For Estate and Gift Planning and the American Bankers Association National Commercial Lending School.
He and his wife, Ruthetta, reside in Chesterfield and are members of First Baptist Church of Ellisville.
