RE: Emerson Charitable Trust Awards Grant to MCF

Emerson Charitable Trust Awards Grant to MCF

May 4, 2006

Citing a desire to invest in education in the State of Missouri, the Emerson Charitable Trust recently provided a grant to the Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF).

The grant will underwrite student scholarships at each of the 13 MCF member schools, including Missouri Baptist University. These scholarships will be awarded by the member schools on the basis of financial need.

“Missouri Baptist University is very grateful to the Emerson Charitable Trust and the Missouri Colleges Fund for this gift,” said Dr. Alton Lacey, president. “This contribution recognizes the importance of education and the significant impact that an educated workforce has on Missouri’s economy.”

The MCF was formed in 1952 as a non-profit corporation. The MCF Mission is to acquire resources to help educate students in its 13 member private liberal-arts colleges and universities.

Missouri Colleges Fund member schools include Avila University, Kansas City; Central Methodist University, Fayette; Culver-Stockton College, Canton; Drury University, Springfield; Evangel University, Springfield; Fontbonne University, St. Louis; Maryville University, St. Louis; Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis; Park University, Parkville; Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar; Westminster College, Fulton; William Jewell College, Liberty; and William Woods University, Fulton.

More information about the Missouri Colleges Fund can be found online at www.mocollegesfund.org or by calling Mike Backer, MCF president, at 573-893-3818.
